Katherine Bates is developing a broad practice, accepting instructions across a wide variety of areas.

Katherine joined chambers as a tenant in October 2025, after completing pupillage. During pupillage, she was supervised by Michael Walker and Matthew Withers.

During pupillage Katherine gained experience in all the core areas of Chambers’ civil expertise and accepts instructions in general civil law matters.

Katherine appears regularly in court and has been instructed in small claims, fast track trials and procedural hearings. Katherine also accepts instructions to advise and draft statements of case in a range of civil matters.
