Claire Fox is a family practitioner, with particular interest and specialism in Public Law Children matters.

Claire is often instructed on multi day final hearings and fact-finding hearings across the range of court levels on behalf of local authorities, parents, grandparents and guardians in care and adoption proceedings including contested leave to oppose adoption cases. Claire has appeared in the Court of Appeal acting on behalf of the children and has conducted appeals from decisions at final hearings in the High Court.

Claire’s experience includes cases with parents with learning disabilities and where the OS/Communicourt is instructed, vulnerable clients, sexual abuse, factitious illness, non-accidental injury and abduction. She has also been instructed in cases involving alleged breaches of parents and children’s human rights and claims for damages. Claire has experience of Re W hearings and has been instructed in cases where a child has given evidence via video link. She has also appeared in private law children cases with an international element in the High Court and represents rule 16.4 guardians within complex private law children matters.
