Rachel Baker (representing West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service) participated in a 2-week jury inquest touching upon the death of a Sussex man who died in June 2021 after being taken ill at work whilst on scaffolding, and within a month of having received his first Covid-19 vaccination. Other interested persons represented at the inquest, which took place at the West London Coroner’s Court, included Moderna and the MHRA.
After hearing evidence, the jury’s conclusion was that the death was not caused or contributed to by the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine received by the deceased.
A Report to Prevent Future Deaths is to be addressed to the National Access & Scaffolding Confederation as a result of the Assistant Coroner’s concerns regarding the current lack of guidance given to scaffolding firms and building contractors for situations where a scaffolder falls ill whilst working at height.
