Laura Bayley recently represented a father in resisting a mother’s application to move two children, aged 11 and 8, from London to Somerset.

It had previously been decided that the children would spend alternate weeks with each parent, but in January 2020 the mother bought a home in Somerset and began splitting her time between Somerset and London.

The judge decided that the children should not be moved to Somerset, and published his decision along with the letter he sent to the children explaining his decision.

Laura was instructed by Rix and Kay.

The full judgment can be found here.
