The defendant targeted his victims through online dating websites. He used the cover of the relationship to manipulate them into handing over their life savings, telling them that he was investing the money for their future together. The case involved a 2 and ½ year investigation by Surrey Police and a large number of financial exhibits. Following a 5 day trial at Guildford Crown Court, the Defendant was sentenced to 6 years.
