In July 2018 two females police officers stumbled into an armed robbery of the Tesco Express on Redkiln Way, Horsham. The robbers, wearing balaclavas and armed with a bat and a screwdriver, threatened the officers with them. When their get-away car stalled Owen Smith charged at the officers, pulling the driver out and tried to escape in the police car.
