The 4 week trial, which took place at Hove Crown Court, followed the stabbing of a man in Durrington on 20 February 2018.  Tommy Howlett was accused of stabbing the man to the thigh area three times with a samurai sword, leading to life threatening blood loss. Rebecca Upton, leading Sophie Evans, secured a not guilty verdict on the charge of attempted murder.

Edward Hand and Charlotte Morrish, instructed by Bishop & Light Solicitors, appeared for two co-defendants accused of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm with intent.
