Matthew Withers was instructed by Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) South East in this case following the incident in August which led to the closure of a major road in Brighton for nine and a half hours.

Mr Mathers gained access to the roof of the Brewdog public house and began throwing roof tiles down at police officers responding to the incident, causing extensive damage to the roofs and two police cars below. The incident was reported in the local press and is available to read on The Argus website.

Mr Mathers was charged with five counts of criminal damage, affray and causing a public nuisance. He was jailed for 18 months.
