Khutushar Arifin was convicted after a two week Crown Court trial. The defendant was charged with two charges of Rape, one charge of sexual penetration and two charges of sexual assault. All offences were on three women (two of whom were particularly vulnerable) over a two year period.

Arifin had known the victims through his place of work and through social media. Arifin exploited their trust giving him the opportunity to attack them

Sentencing him to life, HHJ Barnes remarked that Arifin should be regarded as extremely dangerous for which no determinate sentence would adequately protect vulnerable women. He will serve a minimum of 10 years in prison before he can be considered suitable for release by a parole board.
