1COR Brighton has excelled itself this year with its charitable fund-raising.

From baking to cycling, raffling to swimming, our members have committed to fund-raising and donating very generous sums to 4 extremely worthy causes; The Bar Benevolent Fund, The British Heart Foundation, Legal Action Group and The Rocking Horse Appeal.

The year of fund raising began at our annual chambers Christmas party with a charity raffle which raised £680. In February, chambers contributed toward the ‘Bake and Eat for Justice‘ event, opening our doors to our local legal community, offering a tasty array of home-baked fayre and raising £170 for the London Legal Support Trust.

To work off the indulgent eating at our charity events, a team from chambers joined the 33rd Annual swimmathon in conjunction with the Lion’s club at Haywards Heath raising a further £143.75.

Concluding our year of fund-raising was the ‘tour de force’ team of cycling members who entered the London to Brighton bike ride, raising £540.

I would like to thank all of those bakers, swimmers, cyclists and donors who have contributed towards the success of the 2015-2016 year of fundraising. The total we have raised is £1,533.75 per member.

But it doesn’t end there as one very generous member of chambers committed to donating £1,000 in the event that chambers reached a grand total of £1,000 by other fund-raising means. Therefore, the total is increased to: £2,533.75 per member.

In addition, on 1st July, Chambers held the 5th annual Volley Ball event in aid of the Rocking Horse Appeal. This event was held in memory of our colleague, Ghulam Hussain, and saw 14 teams from businesses in the legal industry take part in the annual charity event.

Raising the total annual contribution chambers made to charity to a grand total of £4,633.75.

We would like to thank the following local business for contributing toward our Christmas raffle:
