Charlotte Morrish represented a man charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm (s.20) where the sole issue in the case was identification. Following persistent disclosure requests and a s.8 legal argument on the day of trial, information eventually came to light which gave rise to concerns about the state of the Crown’s case and the evidence against the defendant.

The Crown subsequently offered no evidence and the charge was dismissed by HHJ Hughes QC sitting at Carlisle Crown Court.
