Profile

William Edis QC has a wide practice covering all aspects of healthcare law (clinical negligence litigation, professional disciplinary proceedings, inquests and related public law challenges), product liability and personal injury litigation.  He has appeared in before the House of Lords, the Court of Appeal and all courts relevant to his practice areas. He appears regularly in the General Medical Council, the General Dental Council and the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and has appeared before most other healthcare regulators as well as the Bar Council.  He has also acted as a mediator. He is on the management committee of the Bar Pro Bono Unit.

William Edis wrote the chapter on the settlement of personal injury claims involving children or protected parties  in “The Law and Practice of Compromise” by Sir David Foskett (7th Edition, Sweet & Maxwell 2010).  He has been invited to speak to a variety of audiences on legal topics relevant to his practice.
