James King-Smith has been the Head of One Crown Office Row's Brighton Annexe since October 2002. He has practised as a general common lawyer and advocate on the South Eastern circuit, in particular, in Sussex for over 22 years. One of his most high profile cases was to represent the wife of the highest ever UK lottery winner in ancillary relief proceedings. James was on the Treasury Provincial Panel (Civil) for 10 years and is an ADR accredited civil and commercial mediator.
