Video and Audio Seminars FAQ's

How can I access the seminars?

The seminars are available in a number of formats to make it as easy as possible for you to watch or listen.  The easiest way to watch a seminar is on our site.  From here you can also download the video or audio version to view or listen to at a later date.  You can also subscribe to a podcast video feed which is updated automatically whenever we add new seminars.

What is a podcast?

A podcast is a series of audio or video digital-media files which is distributed over the Internet by syndicated download, through Web feeds, to portable media players and personal computers. Though the same content may also be made available by direct download or streaming, a podcast is distinguished from other digital-media formats by its ability to be syndicated, subscribed to, and downloaded automatically when new content is added.

Do I need any special software to watch or listen?

We recommend you download Quicktime or Windows Media Player to watch the videos on our site. You will also need Adobe Flash Player.  If you cannot get a video to play, it's probably because you are missing one of these two pieces of free software.

The 1COR seminars are best experienced with a modern Web browser like Firefox, Safari or Internet Explorer 6 or later. Opera and OmniWeb should work also, but we make no guarantees.

To subscribe to the podcast feed, we recommend you use iTunes.  This software is free to download and is the easiest way to manage podcasts.

Can I subscribe to a RSS/iTunes/Podcast feed?

Yes you can.  Use the following links:

Do I need an iPod?

No – our content works well when copied onto an iPod, but it is not essential to view or listen.

Can I just download the audio or video files to watch on my computer, iPod or video player?

Yes.  Each seminar page has a download link for the audio and video files.  If you have an iPod you can subscribe to our podcast feed, which automatically downloads the seminars when we update them.

How do I apply to attend to a seminar?

Members of Chambers regularly hold seminars. These are normally accredited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board for CPD (Continuing Professional Development) points.

Our seminars are usually free and are normally followed by a reception where attendees have the opportunity to talk with the speakers infomally. They are designed specifically to meet the needs of our existing and potential clients, who are mainly solicitors. We usually issue flyers announcing the seminar 4 to 6 weeks before the event. Attendance at these seminars is by invitation only.

Can I use the audio or videos on my own website?

No.  Our content is only to be used on our website and via the iTunes podcast store.
