We are recognised as having enormous experience in this developing area of practice and are consequently regularly instructed in the most complex and high value cases. Members have acted in the largest group actions and highest value cases litigated in this area in the country.
Particular areas of expertise in this field include large group actions against the operators of children's homes, claims against social services departments for failing to receive children into care or keep them safe whilst in care and also claims against schools, education authorities, religious institutions and youth groups such as the Scouts.
We have experience of litigation in this area before the European Court of Human Rights and all domestic courts from the County Court to the House of Lords. While Members have predominantly acted for claimants, instructions are also accepted on behalf of defendants.
